Asylum

REDVYN ASYLUM opened in 1868 as one of the first mental hospitals in Virginia. It was built close to the ruins of an orphanage founded by the late Emily Redvÿn , who was accused and executed for practicing witchcraft. Only a select number of patients were admitted to the asylum, and operations were extremely private. In the late 1980’s, it was the infirmary for Camp Ashland. In the 1990’s, local teens used the abandoned building as a warehouse to throw dance parties. As the facility continues to go through remodels, lately Gateway Industries has used it for their manufacturing space. ASYLUM is an indoor haunted house attraction filled with moving props, highly detailed scenes, and intense scares.

Corn

In the corn field surrounding PROVIDENCE, spirits protect their sacred land and its family’s secrets. Garden monsters, reanimated scarecrows, the legendary Bunny Man, and a family of cannibals now roam the grounds. In 1987, at the height of the Butcher Brother family murder spree of Hanover, bodies of multiple campers from Camp Ashland were found in the area. And in 1999, it became a place for ravers to hide from the carnage happening at the abandoned asylum turned dance club. Soon crop circles formed and new creatures began emerging. RABBIT’S CRY FIELD is an outdoor corn maze filled with huge walk-through set-pieces, terrifying monsters around every corner, and takes you right to the middle of the WITCH’S WOODS.

Woods

Crooked white trees that hanged the Ashland Witch created a barrier to the other side. These same woods were home to a traveling sideshow that heard its final call and ended their lives in ritualistic sacrifice. As branches form into jagged triangles, ancient creatures stalk the brush, craving flesh and blood. The Void stretches far and wide over this area, with the only means of escape being through a mysterious Stargate. WITCH’S WOODS is an outdoor maze that includes memorable characters and a unique setting that will lead you straight to PROVIDENCE.

House

Emily Redvÿn turned her own residence into an orphanage in 1781. Calling it PROVIDENCE HOME FOR WAYWARD CHILDREN, the facility was known to accept children who were abandoned, those with mental and physical handicaps, addictions, or just needing guidance. A century after Emily’s execution for being a witch, PROVIDENCE reopened in the 1930’s with new ownership under the stewardship of the Baron and Governess. Finally a fire in 1946 closed the orphanage down for good. In 1987 the campers and counselors at Camp Ashland decided to fix up the house and throw their annual Halloween Bash for local residents, until a massacre occurred where many of them perished or went missing under mysterious circumstances. In 1999, strange lights and infernal screams suggested new residents had taken up residence. It seems Gateway Industries held a very important secret… one that will now be revealed through the Void.
